Garden Woodwork
Garden Woodwork
Garden Woodwork is a one-man shop, dedicated to designing and building fine fences, gates, arbors, trellises, planters and benches. I use the best materials available, hand-picked, when possible, at a mill on Vashon Island which specializes in high quality cedar. When I can get it, I use clear cedar for fencing: it looks better, lasts longer, is easier to work with, and results in less waste.
I often collaborate with small garden designers as well as homeowners, and have worked with several of the best-known landscape architects in town. I am proud of the fact that most of my work now comes from word-of-mouth referrals and repeat business.
I am always willing to spend time looking at your site, talking about design options, including plant choices. I never hesitate to say, when appropriate, “Don’t build a fence: buy some vines and shrubs instead.” After nearly twenty years in business, I have a referral list of stone, brick and concrete contractors, and can help get a puzzling project moving.
I live on Capitol Hill; my work zone is the greater Seattle area, from, roughly, Richmond Beach in the north, to Mercer Island in the south. I’ll go to West Seattle on occasion, same for Medina, Clyde Hill and Kirkland, but because of traffic and the price of gas, not much further.
The pages listed below will show you a variety of the styles of some, but by no means all, of the garden woodwork I have built.
I am bonded and insured. My state contractor’s license # is GARDEW*931RF.
